Immigration Advice and Application Assistance (IAAAS)
The IAAAS Program enables MRC North to provide vital information and support to new migrants who have family members left behind in another country.
Funded by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection, the IAAAS Program enables MRC North as a Registered Migration Agent, to give free, professional migration advice and visa application assistance with complex immigration matters, the completion and submission of visa applications, liaising with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection and explaining the outcomes of visa decisions.
The IAAAS Program is available to people who have arrived lawfully in Australia and who meet specific eligibility criteria with respect to disadvantage; individual applicants must be disadvantaged both financially and in another, specific way.
The most requested visa applications include Partner Visas (partners), Special Humanitarian Program and Family Violence Protection Visas (family members), and the average length of time for processing these applications ranges from eight months to three years.
MRC North has provided IAAAS Program support to an increasing number of clients. Northern Tasmania has benefitted from a high success of MRC North visa application assistance that has helped reunite many families.
